Aliyev met with Iranian President Pezeshkian
New York, January 31 (Hibya) - Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev had a phone call with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mesoud Pezeshkian.
During the conversation, the two parties reaffirmed that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran is based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness, supported by deep historical, ethnic, and religious ties between their peoples.
Aliyev expressed his concern about the current situation in the region, emphasizing that Azerbaijan is ready to contribute to reducing tensions and supports resolving these issues through dialogue and mutual understanding.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on various aspects of the friendly and brotherly ties between the two countries and about future joint steps, agreeing to continue further contacts.
